The House I Bought was Unlivable.

Imagine pulling into the driveway of a home, knowing that is where you belong... that a dream come true right? There was a little issue. The home was PACKED full of junk. Literally 5, 30-yard dumpsters full of junk. The walls were old fake wood paneling, the carpet was rust shag carpet from 1980, and there was a chair lift up the steps. EVERYTHING needed replaced. Roof, siding, windows, and every single square inch of the interior of the home. Not to mention, the landscaping was so overgrown you couldn't see the house from the street.

I was 34 weeks pregnant with my 4th kid when we saw this house, and no one could understand my attraction. Let me explain. It is located on a 14+ acre farm. I was about to have 4 small kids that I want to raise outside as much as possible. It is as conveniently located as a "farm" can be. I have neighbors, but they are far enough away that if my crazy boys run around naked, no one is going to call the cops. I have a grocery store within 10 min and a drug store 5 min away. And we are close enough to the school, we can see the stadium lights out our back window. And, when you pull in the driveway... there is a sense of calm. The busier road behind you blurs into the distance as you over look the (completely run down) farm.

We made an offer-- but not just any offer. The sellers werent taking the highest bidder, which is strange. They were looking for the right fit. We had to submit photos of our family, our dogs, and what our plans were for the house. The sellers were the son and daughter in law of the owners who lived on and loved this farm. So, we did as we were told and we WON!

Here are some of the before photos. Follow us on our journey of making this house a home. It was mostly fun and kinda stressful.
